Thanks to a customer commission, we have a new doll: The Little Prince! The one shown has gone to a new home, but I still have the pattern I designed, should someone else like to order one. The other two photos show the dolls I have on hand. Sadly, we won’t be doing the South of the James Market this summer due to other time demands. However, if you would like to purchase some of our dolls or creatures, send an email, text, or call! See the contact tab for numbers and address.
Yes, I do still blog – tho a bit sporatically! Today’s post is about these new creatures that will be with me at the South of the James Market on Saturday. The dragons are the same pattern you’ve seen here before; the rabbits have different eyes. I’m experimenting with felt, for those who worry a young child might be at risk with button versions. I used the alpha characters on my lovely Babylock Symphony sewing machine to embroider ‘O’s on felt which I then cut out and stitched on for eyes! We’ll see what folks think of them this Saturday. Hope to see you in Forest Hill Park, 8 til Noon.
Our newest doll joins Dan Springs tomorrow at South of the James Market – Alice and the White Rabbit! The rabbit has a reversible vest, tweed with watch on one side, hearts on the other. Come check it out!
We’ll also have more sock elephants, rabbits in a tin, bears, and dragons. Hope to see you there – 8am til noon.
Tomorrow, Saturday, October 19th, is the last day for the season for Dan Springs Collection at the South of the James Market in Forest Hill Park. The creatures shown above in the photo will be on the table for the first time, along with lots of dolls, dragons, and other assorted treasures. Come on by!
The Market will continue thru the first weekend in December. From then til the end of April it will be at it’s Winter location, probably Patrick Henry School parking lot.
Dan Springs Collection has two remaining venues this year: the Covenant Woods Christmas Market on Friday, November 8th and the Laurel Meadows Elementary School Snowflake Breakfast on Saturday, December 14th. Check the Calendar tab on this website for details.
Happy Autumn to you!!
Markets this Saturday! And yes, that’s plural – Dan Springs Collection will be at South of the James in Forest Hill Park from 8am-noon, and at Midlothian Mines Market near the Midlothian Library from 2pm-5pm. Hope you can come out and join us!
Hoorah! Generous friends and quilters have given me some of their empty Altoid tins, so we have more tiny creatures in their tin homes for Market on Saturday! I’ll also be bringing a new gathering of pocket dolls and small dolls. Hope to see you in Forest Hill Park for Dan Spring’s last South of the James day for the year. The Market will continue thru the first weekend in December, but we’ll be in the toasty warm studio!
We didn’t make it to the South of the James on the First Saturday this month, but we’ll be there this Saturday, and next – Third and Fourth. Our newest additions to the doll department, based on Emily Martin’s Black Apple Doll pattern, each have a dress and a mermaid tail! The little rabbits in their beds, made from Altoid Tins, have been well received. You’ll see in the photo above four more bunny variations. Hope to see you at the Market on Saturday – Forest Hill Park, 8am til noon.
