Each time a child and I make a rice bag at the South of the James Market, I trim around the bag with pinking shears, and save the scraps. You never know when then might come in handy. Which happened yesterday!! The rice bags are made from 5″ squares, so the scraps are from 4 1/2″ to 5″ long – just long enough to go around a 1 3/4″ diameter glass ornament. I have a dozen or so that I’ll bring with me for the Laurel Meadow Elementary School Snowflake Breakfast December 8th. Get your tickets early for this annual school fundraiser.
