South of the James, 11/7/09

November 8, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Yesterday at South of the James got off to a chilly start, but the sun came out bright and warm and the crowd came with it!  As always, I enjoyed visiting with children of all ages.  We went thru a tin of rice for rice bags, talked with regular customers and vendors, and  even sold a respectable number of dolls and gifts.

I will not be at the market again until the first Saturday in December, if the weather cooperates.  However, I do plan to participate in the Winter Artisan’s Bazaar at the Chesterfield Central Library in Chester on Saturday, December 12th from 10 am – 4 pm.  This will be a benefit for the Chesterfield Center for the Arts Foundation.

Waldorf School Bazaar

November 23, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Temps yesterday were chilling – 22 degrees in the morning as I loaded up the car for the Richmond Waldorf School Bazaar.  We had good traffic, and music all thru the day.  Sock dolls did well, and I sold several of the button and trinket jars.  That’s all till next Spring - Happy Holidays to everyone!  If you see a doll or gourd that appeals to you, give me a call or an e-mail and I’ll send you ordering info.

Last Market for 2008 – South of the James

October 19, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Last 2008 market for Dan Springs Collection, that is – and the best one yet this year! (South of the James Market will continue on Saturday mornings, 8am til noon, until Thanksgiving.) The dolls in the photo look a little sparse, as I’d already sold all but one of the 7″ folk dolls.  After the pix was taken, the taller Ho Ho Ho sock doll also went to a thrilled little girl.  Her parents are produce vendors, and she’s been visiting my booth all summer.  Yesterday she brought by not only her mother, but her father as well on separate visits.  She was having a difficult time making a decision on which doll to purchase, then finally settled on the sock doll – and danced away with it!

You don’t see a photo of the lovely stuffed yo-yo pin cushions with color coordinated pins, as one lady came by and bought all of the four I had on hand!

More inventory coming for the November 22 craft show at the Waldorf School at Westover Baptist Church – see calendar for details.  Be there!
